Business Segment Overview

 

Corporate: Engage in a deep variety of business-critical activities that keep our company running efficiently. From strategic marketing and financial management to human resources and operational oversight, you’ll have the opportunity to optimize processes and implement game-changing policies.

 

Position Purpose: Responsible for underwriting and monitoring the credit risk of the business and escalating significant credit risk issues to Management. Facilitate the execution of risk management processes to assist in the achievement of the business objectives of the organisation whilst ensuring effective credit risk mitigation.

Responsibilities

Primary duties will include:

 

  • Independently assess the financial strength and credit risks of customers by conducting financial statement analysis, assigning ratings through quantitative and qualitative analysis, and understanding the customer’s business, industry, and products and services offered by StoneX.
  • Prepare credit reviews and approve limits, if within Credit Manager authority, or recommend limits to senior members of the Credit Risk Team or the Risk Management Committee, as applicable.
  • Responsible for executing activities to minimize counterparty risk exposure.
  • Ensure that appropriate credit risk policies, standards, controls, and procedures are established and adhered to; and promote diligent assessment, measurement, management, and reporting of risks throughout the organization.
  • Provide clear, proportionate risk analysis and recommendations to senior management / governance committees where appropriate
  • Improve the consistency, quality, and clarity of risk data to support effective decision making.
  • Support initiatives to improve risk measurement through automation, data quality improvements, and enhanced analytics.
  • Identify and deliver efficiencies within the department and collaborate with Risk colleagues in other jurisdictions to find efficiencies across the group.
  • Communicate risk matters clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Promote a strong risk culture by providing constructive challenges and practical guidance to the business.
  • Monitor, manage, and enhance both counterparty credit and country risk limits to ensure compliance with established credit limits, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide periodic updates to management including providing input to Board Reports and other relevant Committees.

Qualifications

To land this role you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or other similar / relevant discipline
  • Fluency in business English
  • Proficient using the MS Office suite, in particular Excel
  • Technology / automation experience desirable – i.e., using SQL, Python, etc.
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a dynamic environment, with the ability to multi-task and handle numerous requests simultaneously
  • Strong work ethic and emphasis on attention to detail
  • Able to work as part of a team and individually, with the ability to be self-motivated especially with the current hybrid working environment
  • Ability to communicate complex matters effectively with management and colleagues

 

Working environment:

  • 4 day's work from office.
