Responsibilities

Job purpose: StoneX is seeking a Junior Motion Designer to join the Global Marketing and Video team based in our Cape Town office. This role will support the creation of high‑quality motion graphics and video content used across StoneX’s global communications, including internal messaging, marketing initiatives, events, and executive content.

 

Working closely with the Video Manager and senior creatives, primarily based in London and other global offices, you will help deliver clear, brand‑consistent, and compliant motion content within a regulated financial services environment. This is an entry‑level opportunity for a motivated designer looking to develop their skills within a global, corporate organisation.

 

Primary duties will include:

 

  • Motion Design Support: Assist in producing motion graphics, animations, and video assets aligned with StoneX brand guidelines and communication objectives.
  • Content Production: Support the delivery of content for internal communications, global marketing campaigns, corporate presentations, live and recorded events, and digital platforms.
  • Storyboarding & Planning: Assist with basic storyboards, visual references, and animatics to support project planning and stakeholder alignment.
  • Project Delivery: Support multiple projects concurrently, ensuring assigned tasks are delivered accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Global Collaboration: Work closely with the Video Manager, designers, marketers, copywriters, and stakeholders across multiple regions, ensuring consistent output and clear communication.
  • Feedback & Revisions: Implement feedback from senior team members and stakeholders promptly, maintaining attention to detail and version control.
  • Brand & Compliance Awareness: Ensure all outputs adhere to StoneX brand standards, tone of voice, and compliance requirements appropriate to a global financial services firm.
  • Professional Development: Actively develop technical, creative, and professional skills through mentoring, feedback, and exposure to global best‑practice workflows.

Qualifications

To land this role you will need:

 

  • Experience: Up to 2 years of experience in motion design, including graduate roles, internships, freelance work, or relevant personal projects.
  • Technical Skills: Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly After Effects and Premiere Pro; familiarity with Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Portfolio: A portfolio or showreel demonstrating motion design fundamentals, attention to detail, and structured visual storytelling.
  • Communication Skills: Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to work with international stakeholders.
  • Organisation & Time Management: Ability to manage tasks effectively, meet deadlines, and work within established processes.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and consistency, supporting content for client‑facing, internal, and executive audiences.
  • Team‑Oriented Mindset: A collaborative approach with a willingness to learn and contribute within a global team structure.

 

What makes you stand out: 

 

  • Education: Degree or equivalent qualification in Motion Design, Animation, Graphic Design, or a related creative discipline.
  • 3D Exposure: Basic awareness of 3D tools such as Cinema 4D or Blender.
  • Audio Awareness: Basic understanding of sound design and audio syncing for motion graphics.
  • Corporate Environment Exposure: Experience or understanding of working within a corporate or professional services organisation.
