Position Purpose:

This is a technology individual contributor role within the Global Market Data Department at StoneX. This role will actively collaborate with other technology leads and data quality team for delivery of ongoing data projects. As a contributing data engineer the focus will be on both data engineering, improving data quality and support for Market Data Products through engineering and automation.

Primary Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

• Actively contribute toward writing automation scripts, automation of manual tests, testing and implementation of ongoing projects.
• Understands system protocols, how systems operate and data flows. Aware of current and emerging technology tools and their benefits. Understands the building blocks, interactions, dependencies, and tools required to debug production systems for streaming live data
• Strong focus on innovation and enablement, contributes to designs to implement data pipelines for structured and unstructured data and deliver effective and efficient technical solutions.
• Ability to understand capital market business problems, study and transform data as needed.
• Able to play role of technical analyst and break down complex problems into actionable steps.
• Contribute toward improving testing and automation of StoneX systems
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the junior data team members, participate in scrum and sprint rituals

To land this role you will need:

• Primary skillset in shell/Python scripting with Linux command line experience (operations like awk, sed, grep etc)
• 4+ years of experience in debugging logs, managing observability dashboards on enterprise systems
• Experience maintaining Java based apps/microservices/automation is required
• Testing and Automation of Java based apps. Automation using Selenium or Playwright frameworks.
• Excellent written and oral communications skills.
• Experience in public cloud or messaging system like Kafka, Redpanda etc would be plus
• Ability to work in an Agile methodology environment
