Responsibilities

Position Purpose: We are seeking a talented Product Designer to join our team on a 9-month contract. The ideal candidate will have experience within the financial services sector, a strong portfolio demonstrating digital product and website design expertise, and proven experience working with and contributing to design systems. 

This role will work closely with UX designers, product designer, developers, and stakeholders to create scalable, user-centred digital experiences while ensuring consistency across products and platforms.

 

Primary duties will include:  

  • Create high-quality user interface designs for digital products and websites. 
  • Contribute to the ongoing development, maintenance, and governance of the design system. 
  • Create new design system modules and components and update existing patterns as requirements evolve. 
  • Produce detailed design specifications and documentation for development handoff. 
  • Collaborate closely with development teams throughout implementation to ensure design quality and consistency. 
  • Build strong working relationships with the UX team to ensure seamless collaboration between research, experience design, and visual design. 
  • Work extensively in Figma to create designs, prototypes, reusable components, and design documentation. 
  • Conduct design reviews and support teams during implementation. 
  • Collaborate with the WebOps team to review and approve live page designs before publication. 
  • Contribute to design reviews and promote best practices across the design function. 

Qualifications

 

To land this role you will need:

  • 3–5+ years of experience in Product Design, UI Design, or Digital Design. 
  • A strong portfolio showcasing digital product and website design work. 
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma, including components, variants, Auto Layout, prototyping, and libraries. 
  • Hands-on experience working with and contributing to design systems. 
  • Strong understanding of UI design principles, visual hierarchy, typography, responsive design, and accessibility best practices. 
  • Experience collaborating with developers and managing design handoff processes. 
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills. 
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a cross-functional team.

What makes you stand out:

  • Previous experience working within the financial services sector (banking, fintech, trading, investment, insurance, or related industries). 
  • Familiarity with Agile product development environments. 
  • Experience using Token Studio for design token management and maintaining scalable design systems. 
  • Basic understanding of building accessible designs. 
  • Basic understanding of HTML and CSS. 
  • Experience working with enterprise websites or large-scale digital platforms. 

Working environment:

  • Hybrid/In-office 4 days per week.
