Responsibilities

Position Purpose: The Mobile Build & Release Engineer owns and continuously improves the CI/CD and release toolchain for StoneX mobile applications (React Native across iOS and Android). This role partners closely with mobile engineers and product teams to automate build, test, signing, packaging, and release workflows, improve release reliability, and reduce cycle time while ensuring auditability and compliance with internal standards.

Technology Ecosystem (birds-eye view): React Native (iOS/Android), macOS build agents, GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps Pipelines, mobile signing and distribution tooling, Docker/Kubernetes exposure, Azure cloud services.

Primary duties will include:

  • Own the end-to-end CI/CD and release toolchain for mobile applications, ensuring reliable, repeatable builds and deployments for iOS and Android.
  • Automate and standardize mobile development lifecycle processes (build, test, code signing, versioning, packaging, release notes, and distribution).
  • Maintain and harden macOS build agents (including patching, certificate/key management, performance tuning, and capacity planning).
  • Partner with mobile engineers to improve developer experience, reduce manual steps, and embed best practices (quality gates, testing, and observability) into pipelines.
  • Support mobile release execution and incident response, including triage of pipeline failures and post-release improvements.
  • Evaluate emerging tools/approaches (e.g., pipeline acceleration, caching, test parallelization) and propose measurable improvements.
  • Create and maintain documentation for release processes, runbooks, and operational standards; mentor engineers on CI/CD and automation practices.
  • This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and can be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities that management deems necessary.

Qualifications

To land this role you will need:

  • 5+ years of experience in mobile engineering and/or release engineering for iOS/Android (including at least 2+ years focused on CI/CD or release automation).
  • Hands-on experience building and releasing mobile apps, including familiarity with iOS/Android build systems and app distribution workflows.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps Pipelines; ability to design secure, auditable pipelines.
  • Working knowledge of React Native (or other cross-platform frameworks) and the full mobile development lifecycle.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an automation mindset; ability to work effectively with globally distributed teams and communicate clearly in English.

What makes you stand out:

  • Experience with mobile testing frameworks and quality practices (TDD/BDD), including automation of unit/UI/integration tests within CI/CD.
  • Experience with event-driven or microservice architectures and integrating mobile pipelines with backend release processes.
  • Experience with containerization and Kubernetes, and/or using ephemeral build environments.
  • Familiarity with Azure services and cloud-native security practices for pipeline secrets and key management.
  • Prior experience improving pipeline performance (caching, parallelization, artifact management) and measuring delivery metrics.

Education / Certification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Working environment:

  • Hybrid; our Cracow office is located at Mogilska 35 street.
  • Parking space for employees.
  • Global collaboration across Europe and the United States; occasional out-of-hours coordination during releases may be required.
