StoneX Digital International Limited (“SDI”) is an Irish Virtual Asset Service Provider (“VASP”), authorised and regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland (“CBI”). Offering a comprehensive suite of virtual asset services, including execution, clearing, settlement, and custody, tailored specifically for institutional clients. As part of a global financial services network, the firm provides access to major markets and liquidity venues, supporting clients with high-touch service and deep regulatory expertise.

Responsibilities

Job purpose

 

The Head of Financial crime and Compliance will be responsible for ensuring the firm’s compliance with applicable Irish and EU regulations, including AML/CFT obligations under the Criminal Justice Act and PSD2 where applicable. This role will lead the local compliance and financial crime prevention function, monitoring regulatory developments and advising the business on Compliance matters. The individual will also act as the designated MLRO and primary liaison with the Central Bank of Ireland and other competent authorities

 

 

General Duties

  • Monitoring key regulatory developments/horizon scanning and ensure timely updates to internal policies
  • Offering advice and guidance to other business units as required
  • Provide Board-level reporting on compliance and financial crime matters.
  • Implementation of new regulations and other projects
  • Analysis and interpretation of relevant laws and regulations, including identifying changes to these that could affect the business 
  • Implementation of suitable compliance controls to new business initiatives and new products
  • Continually monitor and enhance existing compliance controls
  • Perform “deep dive” ad hoc monitoring tasks as outlined within the Firm’s Compliance Monitoring Programme (“CMP”)
  • Review and approve financial promotions, where applicable
  • Provide training to the business on compliance policies and legal obligations, as required
  • Investigation and resolution of ad hoc queries from regulators, exchanges and other areas of the business

Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience:

  • At least five years’ relevant experience
  • Strong knowledge of applicable regulations e.g. MiCAR, MiFID II, FATF Travel Rule, etc
  • Good knowledge of digital assets and markets that SDI is active in

 

Qualification:

  • Fluency in business English
  • University degree/Professional Compliance Qualification

  • Strong communication and good relationship building skills (written and oral)
  • Experience liaising with regulators and law enforcement agencies.
