Responsibilities

Position Purpose:

 

As a Corporate FX Sales - Director at StoneX, your primary role will be to originate, develop, and manage the FX corporate client base in Australia. This position requires strong sales and structuring skills, with the ability to market and structure vanilla and complex FX hedging strategies, while also building and maintaining client relationships. Your efforts will be crucial in helping clients navigate FX market risks through tailored solutions using various FX products.

 

General Duties:

  • Client Identification and Acquisition: Proactively identify and target potential mid-to-large corporate clients by analysing market trends and leveraging industry contacts.
  • Client Consultation: Engage with clients to understand their specific FX hedging needs and requirements.
  • Strategy Development: Structure, market, and execute FX strategies that align with client risk profiles and trading objectives.
  • Trade Execution and Sales: Execute FX trades efficiently via the trading desk while maintaining a strong sales approach to ensure client satisfaction and portfolio growth.
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate lasting relationships with new and existing clients, ensuring their needs are met with the highest standard of service.
  • Market and Regulatory Compliance Monitoring: Keep abreast of market changes, competitor activities, and regulatory updates to ensure compliance and inform trading strategies.
  • Strategic Communication and Reporting: Effectively communicate with senior management, providing regular updates and detailed reports on trading strategies, market insights, and overall progress. Ensure that all communications are clear, concise, and actionable, facilitating informed decision-making and strategic alignment across the organisation.
  • Compliance and Policy Adherence: Ensure strict adherence to all internal policies and external regulatory requirements relevant to FX Sales and Trading. Continuously monitor and update personal knowledge and practices to remain compliant with current laws and company procedures, thereby safeguarding the organisation against legal risks and maintaining high standards of corporate governance.
  • Commercial Oversight: Take a proactive role in the success of the Commercial FX operations by identifying revenue-generating opportunities and implementing strategies that enhance profitability. Continuously assess sales activities to align with market conditions and company financial goals, ensuring optimal performance and growth of the FX division.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Market Expertise: Deep understanding of the FX market and in-depth knowledge of FX products and structured FX strategies.
  • Competitive Landscape: Knowledge of the competitive landscape to strategically position our services in a way that maximises market share.
  • Regulatory Framework: Comprehensive knowledge of the regulatory environment affecting FX  in Australia, ensuring all sales and trading activities comply with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Client Portfolio Management: Experience managing a substantial book of business, with proven success in client retention and business growth through effective FX solutions.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications in financial markets or trading would be advantageous.
  • Professional Experience: At least 10 years of experience and proven track record in an FX Sales role working with corporate clients at a bank, large financial institution, and/or a non bank financial services instution.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and client service skills, capable of effectively managing client expectations and building professional relationships.
  • Analytical Skills: Robust analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to devise and implement structured FX strategies based on client needs and market conditions.

 

Working environment:

  • 4 days in office, 1 day remote
