Responsibilities

Position Purpose:  As the Manager of Cloud Engineering, you are responsible for leading the strategy, implementation, and operations of the cloud infrastructure that supports scalable, secure, and reliable platform services across the organization. This includes ownership of core infrastructure services, identity and network integration, platform automation, and cloud governance. This role drives the growth and maturity of our cloud capabilities with a primary focus on Azure and an expanding view toward additional cloud solutions as needed. It requires strong cross functional collaboration with security, developer platforms, product, and operations to ensure the infrastructure is resilient, cost effective, and aligned with business and engineering objectives. 

 

Primary duties will include:

  • Lead a team of cloud engineers focused on designing, building, and supporting Azure infrastructure and cloud-native services. 
  • Drive the evolution of our cloud platform by evaluating and introducing cloud alternatives aligned to business and technical needs. 
  • Collaborate with platform peers to deliver seamless integration across automation, containers, observability, and developer tooling. 
  • Own and mature infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practices to support reproducible, scalable, and auditable infrastructure delivery. 
  • Ensure platform stability, security, and operational excellence through proactive monitoring, patching, and performance tuning. 
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (Security, Product, Architecture) to enforce governance and compliance across environments. 
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and coaching to cloud engineers, helping grow technical capability and accountability within the team. 

Qualifications

To land this role you will need:  

  •  A history of being self-motivated and capable of solving problems with minimal oversight. The ability to learn quickly and retain information is key to being successful in this role.7+ years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure, or platform operations, with 2+ years in a leadership or people management role. 
  • Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services including networking, identity, and Kubernetes orchestration (AKS). 
  • Expertise in building infrastructure using Terraform or other modern infrastructure-as-code tooling. 
  • Solid understanding of enterprise cloud governance, access control, policy enforcement, and regulatory compliance. 
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to drive cross-functional initiatives in a complex platform environment. 
  • A focus on reliability, automation, and measurable service outcomes.

Education / Certification Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 
    • Preferred certifications: 
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert 
  • Industry-recognized certifications in cloud architecture or IaC (e.g., Terraform Associate, cloud platform-specific certifications) 
  • Commitment to ongoing leadership and technical development.

Hiring Salary Range $120,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity and alignment with market data). Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan. This compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.
