Responsibilities

Position Purpose: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Business Analyst to join our EIT Execution Systems team. This role will work closely with stakeholders across Product Management, Engineering, and Operations to define, document, and prioritize requirements for trade execution and risk management systems within an Agile development environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial markets, trading workflows, and related technologies, with a proven ability to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions.

 

Primary duties will include: 

 

Requirements Gathering & Analysis:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including Product Owners, Developers, and QA teams, to elicit and document clear, comprehensive business and technical requirements.
  • Break down complex trading workflows into actionable requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Conduct gap analysis to identify system enhancements or new functionalities needed to support evolving trading requirements.

Technical Analysis & Troubleshooting:

  • Analyze complex data sets, trade logs, and system logs to identify issues and recommend solutions.
  • Collaborate with development teams to diagnose and resolve technical challenges related to trade processing and reporting.

Documentation:

  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of system requirements, process flows, and data models.
  • Prepare training materials and conduct knowledge transfer sessions as needed.

Agile Development Collaboration:

  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, refinement sessions, and retrospectives.
  • Work with the Product Owner to maintain and groom the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business priorities and technical feasibility.
  • Develop wireframes, process flows, and data mapping documentation to support the development process.

 

System Integration & Testing:

  • Define and validate integration points across trade execution platforms, risk management systems, and downstream applications.
  • Support the QA team in developing test cases and validating software against requirements.
  • Facilitate UAT sessions with business users, ensuring all requirements are properly tested and validated before deployment.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Recommend improvements to trading systems based on performance metrics, user feedback, and industry best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance system performance.

Qualifications

To land this role you will need:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within trading systems, risk management, or financial technology.
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and working in cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with SQL, APIs, data mapping, and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with microservice architecture and event streaming.
  • Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
  • Ability to produce clear and detailed documentation, including user stories, process flows, and technical specifications.
  • Preferred: Strong understanding of trade execution processes, market data integration, and risk management systems.

What makes you stand out:  

  • Knowledge and experience with a FIX protocol would be beneficial.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, Business, or a related field; or a combination of education and/or equivalent experience.
