Responsibilities

Position Purpose: Deliver top-tier Global Network infrastructure with an advanced operational Network Security focus. The Senior Network Security Engineer is responsible for ensuring that security is embedded by design and by default in network operations. This role will analyze existing processes to devise security-focused improvements, identify and address skill gaps within the team through training, and provide visibility into network security weaknesses. The engineer will also support Infrastructure and Network Operations leadership in managing security risks while acting as a liaison between the CISO and the Network Operations team to align security priorities.

 

Primary duties will include:

 

  • Serve as the service owner for Network Security, responsible for designing, documenting, and training the Network Operations team on standards and processes.
  • Allocate up to 60% of the time to developing Network Security Service Standards and leading related projects.
  • Act as the SME for security solutions, including F5 load balancers, Cisco/Palo Alto firewalls, CDN, and VPN technologies.
  • Support business audits and manage compliance with privacy, risk management, access control, and vulnerability management policies.
  • Lead network incident response and participate in global and regional on-call rotations, managing tickets, post-incident reporting, and participating in incident calls.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN technologies, including IP networks, layer 2/3 switching, and routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP).
  • Manage advanced configurations of Cisco routers, F5 traffic managers, and Cisco/Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Create and maintain professional network diagrams and documentation to reflect environmental changes.
  • Support network operations through hands-on engineering and troubleshooting.
  • Apply security and networking expertise to cloud infrastructures (AWS, Azure).

Qualifications

To land this role you will need:

 

  • Strong customer focus with 5+ years managing relationships with technical customers and excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • 5+ years in enterprise LAN/WAN environments, securing complex networks.
  • Expertise in configuring network security devices (F5 Load Balancers, Palo Alto Firewalls, Cisco ASA’s).
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud infrastructures (AWS, Azure).
  • 2+ years configuring Cisco ISE in enterprise settings.
  • Experience with automation/orchestration tools (Python).
  • Operational experience with SD-WAN and Cisco Meraki Wireless.
  • Proficiency in BGP, EIGRP, QoS, HSRP, STP, WAN Optimization, and Cisco Nexus switching.
  • Experience with CloudVision for Arista switching administration.
  • Strong documentation skills for support processes and network changes.

 

Education / Certification Requirements:

 

  • University degree in a related discipline.
