Position Purpose:

The role of a Senior Equities Dealer goes beyond the three main components of dealing: managing risk portfolios, dealing with client orders and assisting with the improvement of the client product. The candidate must display the highest ethical and regulatory standards while demonstrating these as a role model to those more junior on the Dealing Desk. The candidate will need to display training and leadership skills.

It offers an excellent opportunity to grow and gain seniority in fast paced trading role. The role offers the candidate the unique ability to drive the StoneX Retail Product forward and gain fast recognition for their hard work and experience.

Responsibilities

Primary duties will include: 

  • Equity Product focus, aimed at maximising profitability while maintaining rigorous TCF standards. Work with Regional Heads to drive the Trading product forward through spread management and new product launches.
  • Monitor Equity CFD market risk exposure and ensure relevant positions are monitored and managed across a relevant shift. Ensure less experienced persons on the desk are trained in risk management and encouraged to take the lead.
  • Ensure that all procedures pertaining to the reconciliation of Prime Broker and Liquidity Provider relationships, are maintained
  • Provide Trading senior management with all relevant information and trading data as required.
  • Monitor and maintain capital requirements restriction in respective regulatory guidance, relevant to shifts, and if required to the wider group
  • Assist key stakeholders to define Equities settings that impact client experience, in coordination with global retail strategy.
  • Execution of client orders from HNW desk or those appearing electronically
  • Use expertise to educate juniors and other business areas about Dealing and your specific product focus.
  • Contribute to the optimisation of market risk mandates, and optimizing Revenue extraction
  • Awareness of the real time integrity of pricing which is published to clients throughout the shift, working to aid the Pricing Team if needed. Refine appropriate pricing models and methodology in the Retail space, assisting Trading management and Pricing
  • Ensuring you fulfill any individual requirements in relation to Compliance or MRLO guidance
  • Understand and apply Best Execution and Transaction Reporting requirements and processes in respect to all work. Be a class leader in this field and provide an example to the desk.
  • Work with teams to validate Daily PL, working with Finance relevant to specific asset class
  • Shift work necessary, enabling coverage from 6am to 6pm (subject to daylight savings)

Qualifications

To land this role you will need:

  • Experience in a similar dealing role, or trading role with direct contact with the financial markets
  • Exceptional mathematical and analytical skills demonstrated preferably by university level qualification.
  • Hold the utmost ethics as regards treating customers fairly and honesty
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, being able to teach and explain complicated concepts to those with little financial knowledge.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial markets, with specialisation preferred in an asset class.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in an intense environment; multi-tasking is a given.

 

Education / Certification Requirements: 

  • University Level Qualification in relevant subject
  • Excel competency, complete computer literacy as systems and process involved are complex
  • Financial qualifications preferred
