Responsibilities

Job purpose

This job offers a Sales and Trader role in a dynamic and successful Global Metals Trading business. You will trade futures and options on base and precious metals (London Metal Exchange (LME) and London Bullion Market Association (LBMA)) in our Hamburg Office with customers from industries such as mines, traders and producers.

You will be responsible for developing the French market, onboarding, pricing and executing trades for our clients, support the desk in the client on-boarding and compliance duties as well as operational and controlling tasks.

 

Responsibilities

  • Identify prospects, build our footprint and onboard new clients in the French market
  • Provide our customers from the metals industry with expert level of pricing and execution of metals derivatives (LME and LBMA) in the financial markets
  • Maintain awareness of the risk and compliance culture and comply with company policies for which you have any level of responsibility
  • Observe standards of market conduct and ensure you are aware of, understand and comply with all regulatory, exchange or clearing house requirements applicable to your role
  • Develop fundamental expertise in commodities markets and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the products and markets in which you work
  • Understand the desk’s business strategy and continually improve the operating model

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Finance or related fields preferred. Master is a plus
  • Language skills: Fluent English and French. German is a plus
  • Experience in Financial markets is preferred, interest in the field and understanding of hedging concepts and strategies is essential
  • Experience or knowledge surrounding the metals business is a plus
