Responsibilities

 

Position Purpose:   Within our strategic data group’s trade processing services we are looking for a Technical Lead member to help advance our FIX and Cloud Infrastructure.  As a Technical Lead you will assist in architecting, designing and implementing a new, cutting edge, cloud APIs and FIX Protocol services centered around Trade Lifecycle needs.   

 

Primary Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Create cloud API and FIX Gateway Solutions developing and integrating this software and system technologies – per written specifications; test, evaluate, engineer, implement and support said technologies.
  • Establish connectivity to multiple exchanges and client integrations with FIX Protocol. Provide L2 support to those FIX services.
  • Review, influence and contribute to new and evolving design, architecture, standards, and methods for operating and contributing to services within our cloud and trading ecosystem.
  • Add to our existing infrastructure. Reviews existing designs and processes to highlight more efficient ways to complete existing workload more effectively through industry perspectives.
  • Drive technical innovation and efficiency in infrastructure operations through automation by assisting in improvements to continuous integration, continuous deployment and general DevOps practices.
  • Collaborates with technical teams and utilizes system expertise to deliver technical solutions, continuously learning and evolving our cloud and trading system infrastructure.
  • Monitors and evaluates overall strategic data infrastructure; tracks system efficiency and reliability; identifies and recommends efficiency improvements and mitigates operational vulnerabilities. Respond to and resolve emergent service problems. Design solutions using automation and self-repair rather than relying on alarming and human intervention

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of work experience post completion of bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related majors.
  • At least 5-10 years of experience with the FIX protocol and developing solutions utilizing QuickFix or other popular FIX engines.
  • Knowledge of the financial markets and electronic trading life cycle.
  • Hands-on experience in programing in C# or Java (Python and/or C++ a plus)
  • Professional experience with Messaging and\or Event driven technologies (MQ based, Kafka, Red Panda).
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and various design patterns.
  • Strong understanding of core principles of OO design and their application within a highly scaled distributed architecture.
  • General Linux knowledge and experience.
  • Knowledge of OS and networking protocols (TCP, UDP, etc) particularly in the context of FIX communication.
  • Critical thinking: the ability to track down complex engineering issues, evaluate different algorithmic approaches to solve problems.
  • Good Communication skills and willing to learn new tools and technologies
  • Strong work ethic and emphasis on attention to details
  • Knowledge of the financial markets and electronic trading life cycle.

Working environment:

  • Hybrid/In-office/Remote   - 3 days WFO - subject to change.
