Responsibilities

Position Purpose: Network Operations Engineers will be asked to deliver top-tier global network infrastructure support. Network Operations' mission is to enable the business by way of excellent customer service while striving to keep all network-based infrastructure up and available.Network Operations Engineers actively contribute to both project and BAU requests, while working closely with Network Architects, Operations Engineers, and Senior Leadership.

 

Primary Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

 

  • Plan, design, and develop local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization. He or she will ensure proper installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links as well as accurately analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely manner.
  • Provide a high level of technical leadership for the company LAN and WAN environment.
  • Provide research and recommendations for network operating procedures and standards to assure optimum network systems availability and performance
  • Perform independent research prepare direction papers for the LAN and WAN environments
  • Perform project management and other special assignments as determined by the Network Operational Manager.
  • Perform written Root Cause Analysis documents for network outages and incidents when required.
  • Development and design of highly available, tightly integrated, secure, flexible, and fault-tolerant networking systems.
  • Monitors network performance, ensuring capacity planning is performed and is proactive in assessing and making recommendations for improvement. Design, plan, and implement data communication networks using the latest technology to prepare for business growth.
  • Provide daily support of the StoneX LAN, WAN, Wireless and Network Infrastructures. This includes monitoring, administering, and troubleshooting to maximize network availability.
  • Experience with developing professional diagrams and illustrations of network infrastructure
  • Experience with hands-on network engineering operations and support
  • Ability to resolve incidents, problems, and change requests in accordance with service-level agreements (SLA’s) and approved maintenance windows
  • Ability to author or supplement existing documentation to reflect environmental changes
  • Strong analytical network troubleshooting skills and proficiency with packet capture tools
  • Ability to perform complex migrations/upgrades and deploy new technologies/features as the network environment evolves
  • Ability to apply security and networking concepts to emerging cloud solutions, including Azure and AWS
  • Strong fundamentals in disaster recovery, change management, logging and alerting, and incident response
  • Use terraform, ansible, and/or python toolsets to automate network repetitive tasks and deployments

Qualifications

To land this role you will need:

 

  • 5+ years’ experience providing Network Engineering support.
  • 5+ years’ experience managing relationships with senior technical customers.
  • 3+ years’ experience working with cloud-based infrastructures (AWS & Azure)
  • 3+ supporting Cisco ASA/Palo Alto firewalls.
  • 3+ supporting F5 load balancers.
  • Experience with automation and orchestration tools.
  • Extensive experience with the following technologies BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, MPLS, VRF, QoS, PBR, VSS, HSRP, STP, WAN Optimization technologies, and Cisco Nexus
  • Experience configuring and maintaining Cisco ISE in an enterprise environment

 

What makes you stand out:  

 

  • Experience with automation and orchestration tools Terraform, Ansible, and/or Python.
  • Extensive experience supporting Cisco Nexus switching a plus
  • Operational experience with SD-WAN solutions a plus
  • Operational experience with Cisco Meraki (SD-WAN and Wireless) a plus
  • Operational experience with Cisco enterprise wireless networking and design
  • Operational experience with DNS managment a plus

 

Education

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

 

Working environment:

 

  • Hybrid (3 days in office per week)
