Offering a comprehensive suite of virtual asset services, including; execution, clearing, settlement, and custody, tailored specifically for institutional clients.

Job purpose

The Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer (“DMLRO”) within the EMEA Financial Crime Prevention (“FCP”) Department supports the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (“MLRO”) to ensure that systems and controls, policies and procedures are appropriately designed and implemented, and are effectively operated in practice to reduce the risk of the firm being used to further financial crime. 

Responsibilities

General Duties

  • Acting as the Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer (“DMLRO”)
  • Working closely with the MLRO and senior management to implement a robust Financial Crime Prevention control framework for the firm
  • Surveying and interpreting our Financial Crime Prevention risk landscape, and ensuring that this is appropriately reflected in our Financial Crime Prevention risk assessment
  • Developing risk-based policies and procedures on Financial Crime Prevention, including : customer due diligence; screening; suspicious activity escalation and reporting; and record keeping
  • Conducting regular risk assessments and incorporating conclusions into current policies
  • Acting as the focal point of escalation for Financial Crime matters
  • Filing suspicious activity reports to the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau Financial Intelligence Unit (“FIU”), Irish Tax and Customs Revenue Commissioners and other competent authorities or law enforcement agencies as may be required
  • Making reports required by applicable sanctions laws and regulations to appropriate competent authorities, such as the Central Bank of Ireland; or organise the delegation of this to an appropriately qualified person
  • Ensuring staff are appropriately trained on Financial Crime Prevention, including their legal obligations
  • Monitoring, testing and reporting on the effectiveness of the Financial Crime Prevention control framework and day-to-day operation of Financial Crime Prevention policies
  • Leading our response to requests for information made by the relevant competent authorities
  • Communicating Financial Crime Prevention requirements, building relationships and breaking down information silos providing advice and guidance where necessaryOther duties as assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience

  • Strong understanding of Financial Crime Prevention requirements in crypto-assets and other virtual currencies
  • Excellent knowledge of EU AML regulations including: the Criminal Justice (Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing) Act; the Funds Transfer Regulation and relevant EU AML Directives, FATF Travel Rules, EBA AML Guidelines
  • Significant experience of financial crime prevention policies, procedures and training development in a regulated environment
  • Knowledge of MiCA, MiFID, EMIR, SFTR and other EU investment firm regulations would be an advantage

Qualification and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject or equivalent
  • Excellent written communication and drafting skills
  • Experience of leading and managing teams, and/or deputising for senior management regarding Financial Crime Prevention
  • Relationship building and communications skills
  • Effective planning, organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to analyse problems and deliver effective solutions
  • Excellent Stakeholder management
