Position Purpose: The India HR team is evolving and is upskilling itself and there is a requirement for an experienced HR Operations Bangalore to work closely with the India HR Business Partners, the Business, and the HR US team. This role holder will report directly to the Global Director HR Operations and have a dotted line to the Head of HR India.  

The ideal candidate will drive both operational and transactional excellence through innovative business initiatives across India, as well as overseeing all processes and procedures, identifying efficiencies and process improvements. We seek someone who can embrace innovation, accuracy, and efficiency, and will enjoy collaborating across the global HR team in addition to all business units within the company.

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining our HR Policies and Processes highlighting any issues, managing appropriate remediation, and identifying improvements to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Driving continuous improvement and exploiting opportunities for standardization, simplification, and automation to our current processes.
  • Ensure India HR regulatory requirements and processes are documented and managed effectively and that audit requests are responded to in a timely and effective manner.
  • Commercially minded with the utmost integrity and discretion, you will partner with associated stakeholders to own and manage the employee life cycle experience, prior to entry and through the entire employee journey, always ensuring the highest standards of professionalism.
  • Attendance at weekly HR meetings and liaison and collaboration with global HR teams to ensure operational excellence is applied globally
  • Ensuring that HR Ops is positioned to support the wider HR team manage things like our Absence, Performance Management, Salary Review, L&D and Engagement processes. Being the initial escalation point for employees to answer questions or concerns regarding company policies and practice
  • Preparing people-related and process-related documentation and communications to support the full employee lifecycle (i.e. employment contracts, off boarding)
  • Day-to-day management of your team, ensuring that regular opportunities are provided for skills development and progression and that the team remains focused and motivated to consistently provide an excellent standard of service to stakeholders.
  • Conducts annual performance appraisals for direct reports.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to gain service feedback and discuss/understand future business requirements
  • Management of the annual renewals and liaison with external service providers throughout India.
  • Provide advice and guidance to stakeholders in matters such as policies and procedures.
  • Through management of own workload and that of direct reports, ensures compliance with labour compliances, managing compliance vendors, immediately highlighting any breaches or areas of concern to the Head of HR Business Partnering and HR Operations.
  • Oversees employee on-boarding process, including accountability for accuracy of contract reviews and final sign-off ahead of distribution.
  • Works closely with India/ APAC payroll stakeholders, ensuring 100% correct preparation of payroll upload sheets in accordance with payroll deadlines.
  • Coordinates the employee right to work authorisations and manages the company sponsorship license, ensuring regulatory compliance, accuracy and maintenance of all records.
  • Updates and liaises with external immigration lawyers in relation to employee personal change and eligibility.
  • Work closely with the business, HRBP’s and immigration lawyers to manage global mobility and transfers, ensuring the smooth transition between geographies.
  • Preparation of weekly, monthly, annual and ad hoc report requests.
  • Contributes to the region and global HR projects, including annual salary reviews and bonus reviews.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree and preferably a Masters Degree; plus CIPD qualification, or equivalent experience.
  • Overall 10-12 years of experience with 6-8 years of relevant experience.
  • Solid experience in HR, preferably within Financial Services, with experience and credibility in managing a range of HR processes and procedures, particularly within the HR Operations field.
  • Experience of managing and coaching less experienced HR team members
  • Sound knowledge of India labour and regulatory compliances law and HR policies, processes and procedures.
  • Strong verbal communication, with ability to clearly articulate advice and guidance;
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, with experience of checking work of others.
  • Experienced user of at least one HRIS (eg Oracle) and also MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience of operating within a global matrix HR environment (Preferable)
